The boreal forest pack used to be only 2 wolves. Serenity and Howl, they were originally in another pack, led by my father, and was destroyed, nobody knows why. My family was murdered by hunters, and serenity's family took over, for I was too young. After I was about one and a half years old, I had fallen in love with serenity and became mates.we left the pack, my family dead and serenity's with a new litter, and started our own. It was hard in those cold winters, with no slayer to hunt for us. We had to hunt on our own, it was romantic, yet the real hunting was hard. As the pack grew, it became easier, but boring. We spent most of our time in the den, watching over our pack. Serenity had a few litters, them all wonderful yearlings now. Trained in there class, and taught the history by the elders. We had the pack grow and grow, having many slayers, warriors, guards, we were a wonderful pack, growing and thriving.

Add more history ideas in the comments.

Very interesting Howl, but we also need to include some mythology and detail. I know that elders are allowed to post history and stuff, but I wanted it to be approved by Serenity. I would love to post some history. But I'm gonna make it as detailed as possible. I still need to come up with what legends would suit best too. Not sure what kind of Mythology would fit best, Probally Native American... I also need some ideas on wolves and desriptions and ugh...so much work! xD Do you have any thoughts Serenity? Any ideas I could post post? ^^

I like your idea on the Native American theme thing, Akai. Smile
How about all of you post your idea on the history of the pack, and then I will try to combine it at the end. I'll add my part of the story while at it, and once I edited eveything, I will post it here for you guys to review it before I actually make it the official history. Wink

Okay i edited one so i think it is the most fitting story and many thanks to Akai and Serenity for helping me find the names of the first alphas...

In the beginning, man and wolf lived quite alike. They would hunt the same prey and eat the same, all changed when man evolved… Some wolves didn’t want to leave the easy life so they ran with the man and became domestic. One pack lived far to the others, they were truly wild, they had no need for man. They almost lived in a different world. Led by the amazing first leaders Ekon and Kohana. They kept balance and became the source of the wild spirit. Every night they would send out the call that made all canines return to the forest where they were born… It was nothing less than the call of the wild, it told all human who they really were along with canine kind. Soon the pack grew to over fifty wolves, some left and some stayed. The pack lasted generations until it was in the paws of one of the last who survived, Serenity a sweet wolf and ruled with Howl by her side. The two were going to rebuild the mighty pack back to glory, they started with a loud howl. The few that recognized the howl, the very tone, came flocking to the spot in just a few days. One of each pack that surrounds the territory and even some wanderers. In this bunch were males and females of all ages, shapes and sizes, colors and personalities. Those who were bold and brave, and those who were caring and calm. The alphas were all these and more making the pack complete. And in the spring the pack reached the number of eleven including the visitors. To this day they are ever growing still with the proud alphas, betas, elders, scribes, healers, pups, yearlings, berserkers, slayers, scouts, novices, allies, rivals, strangers and friends.

That's all i've got so far...

How we came to be

Many years ago, in the late 1500's lived many packs. One of those...were the Boreal Forest pack. Although small, we grew to be one the largest there is. It all started with a wolf whose name was Kohana. Kohana was a sleek, small wolf. She was very traditional, and held many beliefs most would find strange. No one knew where she came from, although most believe she came from the Northern Lands. She started out as a loner, but soon grew to have many followers. That was when she created a pack. As a pack, she held many festivals. These festivals honored various spirits that she believed controlled the very forces of nature. Her pack also wore feathers as decorations, they even used berries to paint their pelts. Each color had a different meaning, and their were also symbols members could wear. Kohana's pack soon grew, not large enough to compete with the top five, but large enough to be considered worthy.

Her pack was also one of the few who didn't believe in fighting, and while they still held borders, it was very unlikely for them to ever bicker with a neighboring pack. Becasue of this, many wolves of other larger packs decided to join the Boreal pack, sick of costant wars with the other top packs. Everything was well...until one day.

It was December, and already an awful winter was currently in place. An awful blizzard swept across the land, turning the land pure white. Prey soon faded, and sickness soon appeared for all the packs. It was the worst anyone has ever seen. The land wasn't large enough to support all the packs, and soon the largest ones started to fight. They crossed each other's territory and stole what little prey there was, some even attacked each other, willing to eat anything...even their own kind. Kohana's pack was hit espeacially hard. Other packs knew she wouldn't fight back, so they stole their resources...

By the middle of January, about all the elders and pups have died from the cold or sickness. Eventually Kohana had to do something. The others were too proud to ask for help, and her pack members were dying. She had to get everyone together...only SHE knew how to stop this...

Leaving her pack was a huge risk, but she took it anyways. Kohana travelled to each pack, demanding they get together, and how she knew what was causing the winter. Some of the larger packs refused, too proud, or just not believing her story. Most however accepted, having no where else to go but wait to die. Each pack leader, led by Kohana, made their way to the top of White Mountain...to the spot known as Aurora Peak. It was there...that a winter spirit known as the Pomola lived. The Pomala was a bird spirit..that was the casue for the coldness. Each leader pleaded to the bird to stop the blizzard...but it refused.

The Pomala was not happy for being disturbed, it flapped its great wings causing a strong chilling wind to sweep across the land, causing even the trees to freeze with ice. The bird screeched with power, echoing thoughout the mountainland. At this point, many alpha's turned tail and ran, fearing their life. Even Kohana, as close as she was to spirits, did not know why the bird was being so difficult. It was then, that another alpha stepped forward. His name...was Ekon.

Ekon was the leader of the strongest pack at the time...he was a noble and brave wolf, letting nothing stop his goals. He faced the spirit, standing tall and unafraid, and Kohana joined him by his side. They left after the bird still dissagreed to stop, but Ekon and Kohana would not give up.

Only days later, the few remaining packs who still stood with Kohana, joined as one. Ekon proposed a plan to attack the spirit. Kohana, beleving in peace, went against it, but soon knew it had to be done. Ekon was who led the attack, each pack who agreed let their strongest wolves leave to go to the mountain. About four packs, joined as one...
About seventy wolves ran their way up the mountain, about to face an imortal beast.
It was a long and awful battle, the spirit took many lives....but after hours of fighting, the spirit surrendered...

Ekon proposed a deal to the spirit...as long as it controlled its powers and din't harm the pack, Ekon and the others wouldn't disturb the bird ever again. Reluclently, the winter spirit agreed, and dissapeared. Ever since that day, the spirit was never seen again, although you can still hear its call. It still remains in the mountains, making blizzards and harsh winds, but not as bad as all those years ago...and as long as no wolf disturbs it, it won't harm us anymore.

After the battle though, even having victory, things were still bad...there were not enough wolves to support a pack, and so many have already been wiped out...so it was then...that the two wolves, Ekon and Kohana, let both their packs come together as one. They were now both the alpha's of the Boreal Forest Pack, and the strongest to come out of winter. The other once strong packs though, were now gone...wiped out by sickness and coldness.
Although sad, this made prey and land more available, and battles were not fought over like before. There was room for everyone.

By spring, Ekon and Kohana gave life to six pups, who then continued in their parents place, eventually coming to us today. Over the generations, when new settlers came and built structures, our pack slowly grew smaller.

But even so, we mannaged to survived over hundred of years, adpting to whatever was thrown at us. We are still the pack we were back then, brave and determmined, letting nothing take us down.
-----------------------------------------------

(Okay, so thats JUST the beggining, I still have plans to add history of the alpha's pups and what spirits and threats they had to face. ^^ But I think this is good for how we came to be.)

----------------------------------------------------

Mythical Creatures Ideas (Evil)

Pomala: A Winter Bird Spirit, it is known to live ontop of a mountain, and creates cold weather. This includes, Blizzards, Wind, and Chilly Nights. While not considered to be deadly, it is best not to approach it ot disturb it.

Hvcko Capko (Long Ears): An awful deadly creature that lives in the mountains. It has the head and body of a grey wolf, and the tail of a horse. It smells awful and causes sickness and infection to anyone who touches it.

Angont: An evil serpent that lives in rivers and caves. It is said to wait for travelers to pass by, and then will strike causing death and disease. It is rare for our pack to find one of these creatures, but we must be carful while coming across caves. Many of our healers have tried to pacify it and use its skin for remedies...but none have succeded.

Paiyuk: Carnivorous Water Elk that hunt wolves. Said to have supernatural powers.

Bogey: A large owl that carries around a bag. The owl swoops down to pick up pups in its bag to carry to it's lair. This has never accually happened in centries now, but we tell it to pups who like to wander off.

Nuetral Creatures

Sqounk: A creature said to have alot of wrinkles and to be covered with warts and moles. It is always depressed and cries all day becasue it is so ugly. Few have seen it, this is becasue it doesn't want anyone to see its ugliness. It will often annoy us with its crying.

Good Creatures

Dehotgohsgayeh (Wry Face): A friendly giant. One half of his face is red, while the other part is black. He carries a staff made from the trunk of a hickory and a rattle so all could hear him. The giant wears a hickory bark belt and bear skins. He lives deep in the Earth or Forest's and comes out only at night. He is a cheerful giant who helps and protects us from danger at night if needed.

(This is all i could find on good spirits that fit well. All the rest were all humans or giants. But I was thinking we could have other animal spirits we could make up. Like a white deer or something like seasonal animal spirits that we beleive cause the climate.)
