Topic Reminder:

White Mountain 1b10
White Mountain got its name for the everlasting snow that lies on top of it. No matter what season it is, the snow is always there. This area shares the same mountain with Aurora Peak, except Aurora Peak is the highest point of White Mountain. It takes plenty of effort to climb to this point, but much more to reach the top.

2White Mountain Empty Hunting Trip 1: Calf Hunting Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:31 pm

As her father had taught her, Storm wastes no energy getting to this point, she stalks the area with her nose to the ground... She jumps back when she comes face to face with a lost calf... Knowing she hasn't eaten in three days she pounces on the poor calf, she ends it as fast as she can to make sure it does not suffer... Storm eats enough to fill her up before her next hunt... She rests under a tall pine tree, resting on the soft, fresh, white snow as her bed... The cold does not bother her because of her thick coat, the tree shades her from the breeze... Later she gets up and drags the carcass to the den, since it's a calf it is easier... Storm holds strong grip on the calf's leg as she almost slides down the mountain and retraces her steps back to the den........

As before she climbs the slope with no effort, and she picks up the herd's scent quickly. The huge female stares at the herd and spots two calfs, she stalks and stalks waiting for the mother to turn her back, and when she does Storm snatches the young calf and kills it quickly by chocking it... Now for the second one she grumbles under her breath. Her golden eyes stare at the calf ready to attack when needed, but the mother spots her and charges and so does the herd, she just gets out of the way from being a wolf pancake... But in the end with a final swift blow to the neck she ends up with two calf carcasses. She carries them just as yesterday by the leg, down the cliffs and hills and back to the den where she places it in front of the alpha and elder, staring at me... She mumbles It was a quick trip... Don't ask...

Storm stalks the herd and trails the deer with a infected foot. She smirks feeling well hidden in the snow and rock, her eyes narrow while saying are you ready to get some nice, tasty red deer meat Kapu? Her ears pull back trying to stay undetected by the herd as that could ruin the whole mission...

Kapu nodded violently, his stomach snarling under his thick fur as hos mouth almost watered at the scent of the deer. He shook his head and his eyes locked onto the injured deer. Watching it as it took a step torwards them though they were still undetected. Or so he thought...

Storm starts to get down into a sort of pouncing position as the injured animal gets closer, and growls quietly ready to attack. She smirks gaining more strength in her pounce, then with a sudden burst she lunges onto the poor animal's neck trying to bring the deer down but it flicks her off. The herd starts to run off, leaving the injured deer for us... Storm growls baring huge, sharp, blood stained canines now dripping with the animal's blood...

Kupa waits for Storm to make the first move. As soon as she does he flings himself at the now bellowing deer. Usually if he was in a hunting party he would go for the leg of the animal so it couldnt run away while the others went for its neck, though this times its leg was already injured. Instead of attacking the foor, he lunges for the neck aswell as he see Storm being flicked off. His teeth sink into its fat neck and he tastes the crimson blood as it fills his jaws. He hangs on tightly, jaws clamped around its throat while he pushed at the animals chest with his paws, claws slightly piercing the skin so that he could hang on to the animal.

She gets up snarling, she leaps back into the animal but this time on the back trying to get it to fall so they could finish it quickly. Storm clamps her jaw into the creature's back hoping to break it's spine. She pants hard as she does another run up, she goes for the neck as before, this time swinging it to the ground. The deer bellows as it's once infected foot is now broken, it lays there, helpless to what is coming next...

Kapu feels himself fall to the ground under the deer as the deer falls. He grunts, breathing heavily as he struggles to get out from under its weight. Finally he wriggles out and he glances at Storm before leaping at it, his teeth clamping down on the bellowing animals neck and shaking his head vigorously(hopefully breaking its neck).

Storm bites the creature's snout to keep it quiet and also hoping that it might suffocate the animal. With a few more tugs then animal stops moving, another few seconds and it stops breathing. She let's go of the snout knowing that the animal is dead, she shakes off, still with blood dripping from her mouth. She takes a deep breath while her legs stand apart and her muzzle in the sky, she howls into the sky hoping the pack will hear that we are coming back with something big. Great job! the large female says after the howl. Her tail flicks as she stares at the herd in which this prize came from...

Kapu jumps off of the animal once it lied still. He joined with Storm in the howl with a smooth deep tone as his heart stopped beating so quickly. He turned his head as he heard her speak. He grinned, "Thanks, your rather a quick hunter yourself, we brought down the deer in no time at all!" he yipped excitedly and eyed the deer. "Im not looking forward to hawling that thing down the mountain and to the pack though," he grumped and trotted over to it before dipping his head under its neck and standing up straight, giving his neck a toss in the air so that the deer(front body, its legs and rump are on the ground) slid down his neck and onto his shoulders, its limp head lolling over the side of his back and its front legs jutting out in front of it. He glanced back at Storm. "Ready?" He asked, shifting his weight so that carying the deer as more comfortable on his shoulders.

Storm clamped her muzzle on a leg and said ready! though it was hard to make out what she said with a deer leg in her mouth. She tugs on the leg pulling it to the hill, now are you ready? she said smirking. It's the quickest and easiest way back down she added still smirking. You might wanna hold on she said as she started pushing the deer down the hill...

Kapu nodded and started to dra the deer with her. "Or we could just push it down the mountain...." He thought, relecing a chuckle at the thought. He grinned and continued to drag to the main den, his paw steps carefull and paw pads starting to get used to the terrain though he could feel the sores and cracks. He grunted and pulled harder, eyes narrowed and excited to get the carcass to the cave.

The carcass slided down the hill with ease, Phew! Storm sighed in relief, Now to get this to the pack. Growling, she pulls the deer by the leg. The sky starts to get dark as they are almost to the den, only a little longer to pull this! Storm said with the leg still in her mouth. Clamping her mouth harder, the large female notices that they are near the den, "just before dark" she thinks to herself. Smiling as the wolf figures come into sight at the ~Den Site~

I had arrived in the mountain. I was very lonely, but I hated constantly being ignored. I find a small cave, and decide to use it as a new den. I paw dug it deeper, and the went to the corner, and slept.

It took Stainless a good fifteen minutes to get to where Mato was standing. He was out of breath when he reached the cave, Mato was almost asleep. Stainless was perfectly blended in with the snow, he was in his element where he was standing and if the male tried anything funny Stainless could easily get away unharmed.

I growled lowly. He was in my den, I can smell him. "Kid, just leave me alone." and I the went farther inside the den.

"I'm not a kid and neither are you" he grunts at the black one they call Mato. Knowing he wasn't in a good mood today either Stainless walked off back down the mountain. He wasn't going to try again until Mato calmed down.

Little Misty finally entered the big mountain. She looked for shelter every where she couldn't find anything though. So she hid under the snow hoping she wouldn't get trampled by other wolves.
